Access to the Memorial for people with disabilities

The Memorial is located near the village of Lety u Písku, road I/19. The exit to the Memorial is signposted from both directions. There is a parking lot in front of the Memorial. From the car park you can reach the entrance gate by an asphalt and concrete path. The roads in the Memorial grounds are concrete and dirt, and the entire area from the entrance wall gently slopes uphill toward the memorial circle.

Parking

There is parking for 33 cars, 3 buses and 2 spaces reserved for wheelchair users in front of the Memorial grounds. Access from the car park to the Memorial is via a tarmac and concrete path.

Memorial grounds – Visitor Centre

The Visitor Center is the main building on the entire Memorial grounds. Here you will find the reception, an indoor exhibition and a multifunctional hall. The entrance door is a glass, double-leaf, mechanical door. One wing is 80 cm wide. When both wings are open, the total width of the entrance is 160 cm. It is also possible to use the service entrance to the right of the main entrance door, which has a width of 90 cm. The handling space in front of and behind the entrance door is sufficient. Immediately at the entrance there is a clearly visible reception desk on the left side. The reception desk has a raised counter – if necessary, the reception staff will come out in front of the counter to facilitate communication and payment.

The Visitor Centre houses the main part of the exhibition and the multifunctional hall, and access is completely wheelchair accessible.

Hygiene facilities

Toilets can be found in the Visitor Centre. The accessible toilet (the door is 90 cm wide) is separate and marked with the♿ symbol. The single-leaf and mechanical door to the toilet opens outwards. There is sufficient space for a wheelchair next to the toilet. The space around the toilet bowl is equipped with one fixed and one folding handle. The toilet is lockable.
